The Buzz Cut edit. Why has the Buzz Cut become a trend amongst the modelling industry?

Every year we see a model or two who take the risk by shaving off their locks, this visual trend report looks at the fresh buzz cut models in town. The last few show seasons have welcomed the bigger shift in the image of the model, focusing on the unconvetional ideals of beauty. A unique image is becoming accepted and whereas previously it would be to inject a 'different' sort of edge in a collection the idea of authentic, uniqueness is much more celebrated. This season we have seen more buzz cuts than previous years and a few grils have been sharig the same cropped cut. Will a buzz cut create a models career, or is the hair cut something that holds personal closure for the model? For the models there are range of reasons, take Ruth Bell, the English beauty shaved her head at the request of an Alexander McQueen shoot. The decision paid off and made the young model stand out against the sea of models.

Included in this report we look at the German model Kris Gottschalk, the model chose to shave her hair in a bid to get rid of her experience within modelling and start fresh. Model Issue cannot help but notice that the fashion industry has been welcoming the idea of gender neautral collections recently, Grottschalk found a new light in her career after she was casted in the menswear Publich School show.

Defining the why behind models experimenting with the buzz cut holds and individual reason to each model, however, subsequently by doing so models brave enough skyrocket to the top of casting directors and designers lists.
